To Will swimming is more than just a hobby, it is a way of life. When Will decided to swim the Channel in aid of charity it was a no brainer!

Will works for one of our charity partners, the Lido in Cheltenham, where every lifeguard proudly wears a Weird Fish logo on their chest! We are more than proud of Will for taking on this challenge, he truly is part of the Weird Fish family, our shoal!

In 2017, Will began work as a lifeguard at the Lido and has since developed a love for the water. Will is undergoing the Channel Swim as part of a relay team with friends Sian, Kirsty, Kim and Amy, and colleague, Kelly.

Kelly introduced Will to the charity he has chosen to support, Aspire. Aspire are a national UK based charity that supports young people with spinal injuries. The Channel Swim is an event they hold annually to help support the those affected by spinal cord injuries.

Will is looking to raise £1,800 for Aspire before his Channel Swim that takes place in July 2021. Will and his team will collectively swim is 22 miles, an amount that requires vigorous training and dedication. With lockdown restrictions in place during the whole training period, preparing for the challenge has been difficult. Open water swimming has become part of his regular training regime. It is a big challenge to take on but we know he will be a huge success!

We wish Will and his team the best of luck for their swim in July, you can find more and donate by visiting Will’s Just Giving page.
