behind the scenes of the weird fish summer photo shoot

For this summer season we took our photo shoot crew to the little island of Madeira. Inspired by its mountainous landscape, beautiful greenery and abundance of waterfalls, we felt it would make a nice backdrop for the launch of our new tag line “Wear the Weekend”

Madeira Cover Shot

Our first discovery was a culinary one, trying a Bolo Do Caco. This cake like flat bread is served with garlic butter and a choice of filling like chicken, or chorizo. It was certainly garlicky, leading us to believe Madeira must never have a problem with vampires.

The first day we head down to the beautiful harbour in Funchal, the south of the island.

The colours were beautiful and it reminded us of Padstow.

One boat was strewn with these amazing, drying fish. They look slightly bat like, glad we had our garlic breath.

The locals were all very friendly…

…even when we may have been a little over friendly.

We were really lucky with the weather being so early in the year.

Our sunsetΒ location was the stunning Estalagem Hotel. They were very accommodating, with some amazing views over the Ponta Do Sol.
